I can't get my hands on #2. :( The place that I normally buy comics got #2 in damaged and they sent it back.....sigh
It seems that they are only ordering one of each of these comics just for me....

I have 1,3 and 4 and dont want to read 3 until I get 2. :P

No. But then again I haven't yet been to Newbury Comics or called them. I can't forget to do that once I have to start humping it up to that town 5 days a week, twice each day. I'll be out of excuses then!

The big hardcover CALIBER that will contain all of the smaller books will be out Dec 03.

http://www.amazon.com/Caliber-First-Canon-...19942802&sr=8-1

These issues that we have talking about 30 + pages each on glossy, thick paper and are slightly longer and wider than the average book. They measure approximately 6 1/2 inches wide and about 10 1/8 inches tall.

I have a question about Caliber. Will the movie be basted on all 5 books and does the big book due out in Dec contain them all ?
Sorry I am not a comic reader, but this one did sound interesting.
Thanks

That's a very good question, we don't know about the script, I beleive it's still being written. It makes sense that it would follow at least the 5 five smaller books. I've been told that the big book will contain the 5 smaller books. I don't know if there will be anything extra in it. This is the same way that "Rex Mundi" has been published, first you get the small books with 30-ish pages then after a few are out, the compilation book comes out.

I couldn't wait, LOL I did get my missing #2 from Holly's recommended Mile High Comic place (link is earlier in this thread), they arrived quickly and were packaged very nicely. I picked up #5 at our local comic book store today.

You're welcome.

I'm needing to catch up on Caliber. But just a note to mention, that I'm enjoying purchasing each smaller 'comic' instead of 'books', because I feel the money trickling out is easier, rather than the large purchase of the 'book'. Just my two cents worth.

That is a great idea Depputante! That's what I've done too!

Didn't someone say somewhere on JDR that the authors dont make any money when people buy the compilation. That they make their money on the individual comics???? Was it under the Rex Mundi with Arvid Nelson??? I can't find it, but he replied somewhere that this was the case......or is my memory failing me ....again :shistle

But then again, we love comic books and this is the route that we prefer to go. :writing

hmmm I know I remember him saying something about revenues but can't remember what it was. I just re-read our Q&A with him and it wasn't there. Maybe in one of his newsletters???

No it was not in a newsletter. I had made a post on JDR about buying the individual comics and he replied to my post. Wished that I could remember exactly what he had said. :banghead

captainjacksparrow -- thanks for tracking down the individual issues. I know it's not easy, but we really do depend on sales of the "singles" to subsidize the collected volumes. Comics are in a transitional period right now, away from single issues to collected volumes. It's hard for the likes of me, because I can't afford the costs of producing and writing 160+ pages all at once, but fewer and fewer people are reading single issues.

Karen - August 30, 2008 10:09 PM (GMT)
THanks for tracking that down!

Got the new one! (Just missing #2).
I sure hope Johnny plays this one.
So handsome...and earthly kind of dirty! :)
