Radical announces 2nd printing of Hercules #1 and Caliber #1

Released on April 30th to critical acclaim, Hercules: The Thracian Wars #1 and Caliber: First Canon of Justice #1 has been a big hit with both retailers and fans. Despite efforts to satisfy the public with extra copies of Hercules and Caliber printed in case of a sellout, the demand for more continues to grow. Because of this, Radical Publishing is pleased to announce that a 2nd printing is on the way for both titles.

Barry Levine, Radical Publishing President and Publisher notes, “In the past week while promoting our upcoming issue #3’s of Hercules and Caliber, we have received numerous calls and emails from both fans and retailers alike, wondering if we are going to do a second print on our issue #1’s. We’ve heard the message loud and clear and are pleased to say that a second printing of both titles are underway. Being a new publisher, I’m sure many retailers didn’t expect the kind of sales our titles would produce. As a result, a lot of people underordered and were unable to place reorders due to the overwhelming demand. These limited quantity second printings will enable fans who have missed out the first time around to see how both these epics began.”

Both Hercules: The Thracian Wars #1 2nd print and Caliber: First Canon of Justice #1 2nd print will retail for $2.99 and are available to order from Diamond Comics Distributors. Each cover has its own Diamond order code to provide retailers the choice in the amounts of each cover variant they want. This will be an option for all books published by Radical, starting in the August 2008 issue of Diamond’s Previews.

These comics are selling well in Dallas I was told Monday at a local comic store chain. I bought the last two copies of #2 (Caliber) and #3 was on back order. Just FYI. :) Anne r

Interesting that Amazon still has Caliber only for preorder. I did order it. Must take them time to get it in stock.

Question - I'm a little confused by NurseAnne's comment. Are there 3 books out now? I can only find #1 at Borders/Amazon.

Also it says it's not released in hardback until November 2008 at the Borders site.

Off topic - wonder what ever happened to the #5 of Rex Mundi books. ????

Holly, you might want to contact a local comic book store as they might have it sooner, or try one on line that might be willing to ship. Just a thought.

Radical has released three separate comics with the Caliber character-they are about 25 pages in length and cost 2.99 acording to the cover of #3 there are a total of 5. Number 2 was released in June and #3 was released last week. Rex Mundi Volume 4: Crown and Sword was released in December-I got it from Amazon in late December of 2007 it cost 11.53 plus shipping. For single copies of comics I have had better luck at the local comic speciality shops-the staff can locate the copy you are searching for qucikly. Hope this information helps. Anne r

I tried the Diamond Comics Distributors site that was mentioned in the article and found 3 stores within my driving area that sell comics---never knew they existed! I'm going to try contacting them to see if they have any of the released ones yet. If you go to their site(I just googled the name to get the link), you type in your zip code and they show stores near you. I still need to get the latest Rex Mundi, too.

EDIT: Anne, what do you think of the Caliber stories so far?

Donna artwork is beautiful-story is interesting so far but there is not alot of development at this point (only have read 2 issues) I do not see how a film script could even be completed with 5 issues-but I am new to the world of comics and maybe the illustrations say more than I am comprehending at this point. Thanks for the info Anne----maybe this will be developed at a later point once more of the story comes out? I would like to see the Rex Mundi film made......

Donna I would like to see Rex M. made into a film and maybe more news will be released about both of these comics after Comic Con and the SAG contract is resolved? Anne r
